Foxtail palm is a type of palm that can tolerate different varieties of soil. It is a fast growing palm where you can enjoy a good size of palm in just a few years.

Though is is drought resistant regular watering will encourage optimum growth.

Its canopy is 8-10 leaves and each has a foxtail or a bottle brush appearance.

Foxtail palm can reach about 32 feet in height and stops about a half of it when it is put indoor. It grows about 1 foot every year and reach its full height after 20 years.

Do not be afraid of its name, it just named snake plant because of the texture and color of its leaves. Snake plant is widely known also as mother-in-law tongue.

Before, i just don't mind about this plant because i saw this everywhere until i stumble to a book that listed NASA's recommended plant to be used indoor and this plant is listed to be the best and in fact NASA is using this in their space craft because of its ability to boost oxygen and absorbed chemicals.

Snake Plant Health Benefits

This plant cleans better air than any other plants because of its ability to absorb excessive amount of carbon monoxide. It also emits oxygen and filter chemicals that came from paints, cars, curtains etc. like benzene, xylene, trichloroethylene and formaldehyde. Therefore when this plant is place in the office or bedrooms it can improve productivity, help eliminate stress, foster happy environment and helps the overall well-being of the workers.

Care

This plant can thrive in a bright lights area and in a low light area. Do not over water so watering it once a week is enough.
